Field Survey Technician
THE ROLE OF THE FIELD SURVEY TECHNICIAN:
Cowan Group Engineering (CGE) is seeking a Field Survey Technician to assist our licensed surveyors in various duties across the Civil Engineering services provided.
This position reports directly to a Team Lead and will:
- Assist in the preparation of topographic, property boundary, engineering design surveys and construction staking.
- Assist in processing of survey data and drawing production.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail.
- Display excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and with a team.

THE IDEAL FIELD SURVEY TECHNICIAN CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience and a desire to become a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Solid knowledge of surveying principles and methods and use of required field surveying equipment.
- Familiarity with state plane coordinates systems and geodetic calculations.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with GPS, Total Station (robotic or conventional), laser levels and data collections systems.
- Willingness to work in the office and in the field.
- Ability to travel out of town when required.
