CGE was selected by the City of Eufaula to develop a calibrated water model of the city’s water distribution system and then create a Capital Improvements Plan (CIP). The project began with an inventory of the existing system, including waterline sizes and lengths, elevated and ground storage facilities, booster pump stations, and the review and evaluation of water production and sales records. The water model was then created and scenarios developed to determine necessary system upgrades based on existing deficiencies as well as future growth. A final report was developed that summarized the system analysis, which included a CIP of recommended improvements over the next 30 years. Improvements were broken down into three categories – critical, short term, and long term. Critical improvements included approximately 12 miles of waterline upgrades and replacement, which are currently under design.
